Christchurch Police attended a report on an attempted robbery of a taxi driver, which occurred in the Linwood area about 9.20pm on tuesday 23rd June.
A lone offender, who had earlier been uplifted by the taxi driver , presented a knife and demanded money.
After a short altercation the male decamped on foot.
The taxi driver suffered minor, largely superficial injuries and was treated at Christchurch Hospital.
A 19yr old male is currently assisting Police with their inquiries.
